Welcome to Homeschool Disney!
About Me
Welcome to Homeschool Disney! I'm Beatrice, a former public school teacher with a Masters in Education and Public Policy. I transitioned from the classroom to homeschooling when the traditional brick and mortar school system wasn't working for my daughter. We had moved to central Florida and decided to use virtual school while we were settling in. Because my daughter was still young, I was very much the facilitator in her education. I began to see areas where she excelled and where she needed more scaffolding, and then we dropped virtual school in favor of completely tailoring education to our daughter. It has been an amazing experience and I am so grateful to be free of the boxed thinking of public education.
At Homeschool Disney, I create engaging and educational activities and worksheets tailored for students from pre-k to middle school. These resources are thoughtfully designed to correspond with various Walt Disney World parks and iconic Disney movies, making learning an exciting adventure. Join us on this journey as we bring the wonder and joy of Disney into our homeschool experiences, nurturing curious minds and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
My Mission
At Homeschool Disney, my mission is to provide high-quality and innovative educational materials that ignite a love for learning in children. I believe that education should be fun and engaging, and I strive to create resources that will captivate young minds and inspire them to explore the world around them.
I also understand the unique challenges of homeschooling, and my goal is to support parents in their journey by providing comprehensive resources that cover a wide range of subjects. Whether you are looking for math activities, language arts worksheets, or science experiments, I have something for every subject and grade level.
How I Create Homeschool Disney Curriculum
At Homeschool Disney, I take great care in creating park and movie curriculum. Each activity or worksheet has been carefully crafted, drawing inspiration from the rich storytelling and immersive experiences of Disney to create engaging content that captures children's imaginations.
I utilize Bloom's taxonomy in my curriculum (something I never quite dropped from my MEd program). If you are familiar with Bloom's, I strive to create higher cognitive frameworks within the lessons (basically, moving beyond basic memorization to learning application, analysis, and creation). I believe this is where true learning takes place in all of our minds, where we use knowledge in practical ways, not just to pass a test.
Thank you for joining me!
